Big on Birthdays

March is a big birthday month around here. It seems I have a friend with a birthday everyday! That means creating and sending birthday cards, so I have been pretty busy. Here is one I created for one of my swaps.
I did two swaps recently and the theme for both was Birthday so I am set for a while as soon as they arrive in the mail.

Big on Birthdays was the first stamp set I ordered when  joined Stampin' Up! because that was what I wanted to create the most. What do you think? Isn't it great?

Instructions:
Cut your cardstock:
Whisper White cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4 for the base
Calypso Coral layer is cut 5 1/4 x 4
Piece of Petal Passion DSP is cut 5 1/4 x 1 1/2
The Whisper White cardstock I used to stamp the sentiment is cut 2 3/4 x 4 1/4
TIP: I cut a piece of Whisper White Organza ribbon 7 in. I laid it on a piece of scratch paper and colored it with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends Marker. You can color ribbon to match all your cards with this technique!

  • Fold your base and crease it with your bone folder. Lay it aside.
  • With your snail adhesive attach the DSP to the Calypso Coral cardstock.
  • Wrap your piece of colored ribbon around the middle of the DSP and attach it to the back of your layer with scotch tape. Trim the excess and tie it to the front of the card.
  • Attach the layer to the base with snail adhesive.
  • On the smaller piece of Whisper White cardstock stamp your sentiment with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink - TIP: when you are using the  Stampin' Blends markers you will always use this ink pad so the blends will not run.
  • Use the Light and Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends to color the flowers on the sentiment.
  • Attach the sentiment to the card with the snail adhesive or dimensionals if you wish.

The items you need to create this card are listed below-click on an item and it will take you right to my online store.

Thank you for letting me share with you.
